Options Employment (North) Ltd are currently looking for two Quantity Surveyors to be based in Aberdeen.

The Job

As Quantity Surveyor you will keep financial control of all developments and issue accurate reports as required.  You will work closely with other members of the development teams to ensure that profit is maximised wherever possible.

You will also bw responsible for preparing accurate development appraisals and preparing and monitoring costs for all construction works.

KEY TASKS:

  • 1. Report on the financial performance of projects from Appraisal 2 stage to completion.
  • 2. Prepare stage 2 and 3 Development Appraisals.
  • 3. To actively participate as part of a project team for each development, to ensure that critical programme dates are met.
  • 4. General financial management of sub-contracts, including preparation of bills/tender enquiries, appointment, valuation/payment, dealing with contractual disputes and agreeing final accounts.
  • 5. Prepare, monitor and adjust labour targets.
  • 6. Prepare, issue and update bulk material quantities.
  • 7. Remeasurement and evaluation of all works as required.
  • 8. To actively identify and participate in all training activities.
  • 9. To ensure compliance with the Quality Management and Health and Safety Systems at all times.

PERFORMANCE MEASURES:

  • 1. Timeous issue of reports, targets, acceptance of sub-contractors and valuations.
  • 2. Accuracy of reports.
  • 3. Profitable completion of developments.
  • 4. Effective cost control.
  • 5. Effective handling of sub-contractors including dealing with contractual disputes.

KEY SKILLS

  • 1. Financial/contractual awareness.
  • 2. Accuracy.
  • 3. Assertiveness
  • 4. To be able to work as part of a team i.e. with other surveyors and within development teams.
  • 5. Communication skills.
