The Client
My client is the £500 million turnover construction services business a £1.2 billion Group. MC(UK)Ltd is determined to be a Top 5 UK Contractor as measured by profit in percentage terms. Currently divided into six business units they employ 550 professional and administrative staff across approximately 50 sites and eight area offices throughout the UK.
The Job
KEY TASKS
1. To work in tandem with the Regional Bid Manager ensuring full understanding of business opportunities and providing resource of the right type and calibre to ensure Bid structure and content gains optimum benefit from technical, operational and commercial value engineering. 2. To ensure continuity of management presence, process and ownership from bid to build phase and in so doing avoid the loss of project specific intellectual capital and maximise project efficiency and profitability. 3. In conjunction with the Regional Bid Manager decide on procurement strategy and thereafter be wholly responsible for planning, procuring, managing and controlling the necessary resource. 4. To ensure that all corporate, statutory and regulatory requirements and authorisations are fully in place and in accordance with project programme. 5. To ensure all aspects of operations are effectively monitored and controlled with potential problems being identified and addressed without adverse impact. 6. To ensure that risk is constantly and fully considered and effectively managed. 7. To consistently deliver an excellent product to the customer and to do so within both programme and budget. 8. To build and lead a team that is fully aligned and committed to the business and whose capability and contribution is optimised.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
a) A commercially astute professional with a surveying or planning. b) Substantial direct exposure to the "very best in the industry" with a minimum 2 years Bid Management experience.

a) A consummate professional with leading edge technical and operations knowledge. b) A natural negotiator willing and able to work within lengthy and at times uncertain timeframes. c) Integrity, presence, drive, determination, natural enthusiasm and a sense of humour. d) A rapid assimilator and analyser of information, situations and issues with a keen ability to identify opportunities and problems and offer solutions with maximum results. e) Able to identify potential problems before they arise and evolve effective and innovative solutions in the event that they do. f) Commercially and technically superior g) Excellent organisational and time management skills along with the ability to effectively prioritise and delegate against strict deadlines.
